MACHIAVELLIAN YO!

Aren't we all a little Machiavellian once in awhile?

Met a guy on Commercial Drive a few nights ago while I was having 99cent pizza in the middle of what was a typical Friday night, 99cent pizza, Commercial Drive scene. I was randomly having my portrait drawn as a Spirit Bear, while standing underneith badly placed, sidewalk blocking, scafolding, and being lured into the new fallafel place by the owner and his very lound, old fashion word of mouth advertising....best fallafel in the city apparently.

In the middle of all of the hustling I met this guy who within 60 seconds, threw into the conversation the word 'Machiavellian'.

I giggled to myself, and thought, "right here, right now, in the middle of all of this and without even knowing my name you are going to use a 6 syllable, 'big' word like Machiavellian? I like your timing. Who are you, and can we be friend?!"

I then thought, "well aren't we are all just a little Machiavellian at least once in awhile?"

The word has been on my mind for the past few days. It has been both a pleasure and a little painful throwing it around in my head....

I gave this button to my waiter at the Whip while enjoying a few too many glasses of red wine late at night...He did not display any signs of Machiavellianism, or at least not while bringing us drinks or graciously accepting my button. He just seemed nice and I wanted to share.
